Fernando Mendoza Ready For “Heavyweight Match” In Big Ten Championship

Fresh off a historic 12-0 regular season, Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza spoke to the media on Monday. Mendoza wasted no time setting the scene for next Saturday, ending his opening statement by saying, “We have a fantastic opportunity in front of us in a heavyweight match against Ohio State in order to win a Big Ten Championship.”

The No. 2 Indiana Hoosiers (12-0, 9-0) finished the 2025 regular season undefeated after annihilating rival Purdue 56-3 on Friday night. After dropping two straight, No. 22 Indiana volleyball bounced back in a big way, defeating Ohio State 3–1 behind standout performances from freshman Jaidyn Jager and senior Avry Tatum. The Hoosiers’ balanced attack and home-court energy powered them to a statement win in Bloomington.
