Former Hoosier Wes Martin Selected in the Fourth Round (131st) of the NFL Draft by Washington

Former Indiana Hoosier offensive lineman Wes Martin was selected 131st overall (fourth round) by the Washington Redskins in the 2019 NFL Draft on Saturday afternoon. Martin played in 50 games (43 starts) in his Hoosier career and was a two-time All-Big Ten honorable mention. With Martin’s selection, the Hoosiers have now had a player in six consecutive drafts.
Three Hoosiers Earn Invite to NFL Combine

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana safety Jonathan Crawford, long snapper Dan Godsil and offensive tackle Brandon Knight will participate in the 2019 NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium from Tuesday-Monday, Feb. 26-March 4. This is third time in four years (2018 – program record 5, 2016 – 4) at least three Hoosiers have received invitations to the NFL’s showcase event.
Former IUFB LB Tegray Scales Signs UDFA Deal with the LA Rams

Tegray Scales was born to be a football player. The prized recruit from Colerain High School in Cincinnati showed flashes of NFL-potential dating back to his Pop Warner days. After the going undrafted,the Rams got themselves a great player when they signed Scales as an undrafted free agent. Scales was a top-35 outside linebacker in the country as high schooler and one of the 25 best football players in the state of Ohio per 247 Sports. Scales chose the Hoosiers over a dozen other Division I scholarship offers and the rest is history.

Tegray Scales was a prized recruit from Colerain High School in Cincinnati. Scales was a top-500 player in the country, a top-35 outside linebacker, and one of the 25 best football players in the state of Ohio per 247 Sports. Recruited primarily by IU’s linebackers coach and current special teams coordinator William Inge, Scales chose the Hoosiers over a dozen other Division I scholarship offers. Scales was impressed with Indiana’s persistence throughout the recruiting process, and ultimately he decided Bloomington was the place for him.

Simmie Cobbs will have a place in Indiana football history for several reasons. Obviously, Cobbs’ prolific career on the field has earned him some serious hype as an NFL prospect. He is being talked about among NFL scouts as one of the more impressive, big-bodied wide receivers in his class. Cobbs posted remarkable numbers throughout his tenure in Bloomington, and at times, he was simply unbeatable. Some Hoosier fans might forget Simmie Cobbs was set to be a Boilermaker.
IUFB Pro Day Primer: Linebacker Chris Covington

Chris Covington was an unheralded two-star recruit from Raby High School in Chicago, just two and a half miles west of the United Center. Covington played defensive back and quarterback in high school. He earned all-city and all-conference selections after throwing for 1,993 yards and 26 touchdowns as a senior. Covington added 657 rushing yards and 13 more touchdowns on the ground. The dynamic athlete also recorded three interceptions and a forced fumble. He became the first athlete from Raby High School to receive a Division I scholarship. Covington joined Indiana football as a member of the 2014 recruiting class.
