Indiana football will try their hand against the no. 4 Michigan Wolverines at noon on Saturday. After dropping their last two games, the Hoosiers are frankly in a more expected position. Losing their last two to no. 24 Cincinnati and Nebraska, Indiana’s found themselves in an interesting spot. With some clear objectives that Indiana needs to take care of, they find themselves staring down the barrel of a team which will show no mercy. Today, we’ll take a look at a few keys to perhaps winning this game.

Each game week, we will take a further look into the stats to preview Indiana’s upcoming matchup. It is homecoming week for the Hoosiers, and they will welcome the Michigan Wolverines to Bloomington. Indiana won the matchup last time in Bloomington 38-21 before falling to the Wolverines last year 29-7. Indiana has faced solid teams this season, but this will be the toughest test to date by far. The Wolverines enter the game ranked in the top five and off of a 2021 College Football Playoff berth.

Series History: This ongoing series has been an ugly one for the Indiana Hoosiers. The Michigan Wolverines have won 59 of the 69 contests and won 24 in a row until IU knocked off the Wolverines last season. Jim Harbaugh and Michigan will certainly remember that defeat and be looking to set the series back on its familiar trajectory. Indiana has not won in Ann Arbor since 1967.
Keys to a Hoosier Win Over No. 7 Michigan

Indiana is coming off their sixth loss of the season as they fell to Maryland 35-38. Michigan is coming off their first season loss as they fell to Michigan State on the road 33-37. Michigan comes into this game as the ninth-best team in the country, according to the Associated Press. The Wolverines will be playing with many emotions after playing with the lead to the Spartans this past Saturday and blowing the game. On the other hand, the Hoosiers won’t be playing for much as they saw their bowl hopes slip this past Saturday, but they will be playing for future years as many newcomers will be inserted into the game. With that said, let’s dive into some keys for the Hoosiers to pull off an upset Victory against the Wolverines.

It was a downright dominant performance by the Indiana defense that left Michigan in the dust 38-21 on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. It was the dust IU had collected over the past 33 years that they had come up without an answer for Michigan and their consistently talented teams, and Saturday they had every answer from the first kick.
