Indiana concluded a disappointing season by bouncing back from a five-game losing streak to secure a series win against Illinois. Despite finishing 14th in the Big Ten and missing the tournament, the Hoosiers excelled on senior night, capping off their year with a clean, dominant 11-2 finale victory.

“We’ve really found an identity on both ends of the floor,” Darian DeVries said. “Our floor spacing has been better. Ball movement has been better. Defensively, we’re more connected. There’s still work to do, but I like the effort they give every day. Even during the losing streak, they never came to practice with their heads down. They came to work, they came to get better, and they came to win the next one.”
DeVries Looks Ahead to 222nd Purdue Matchup
“It’s consistency from game to game and even within a 40-minute game,” Darian DeVries said. “Even in some of our losses, there have been really good stretches for 25 or 30 minutes. But it’s a 40-minute game, and being able to sustain that over the course of a high-level game is something we’re still striving for. I believe it’s there.”

In case you missed it, last weekend was a wonderful one for IU football, as former defensive back Jamar Johnson’s name was called as the 20th pick in the fifth round (164th overall), to extend the draft streak to eight years. Although Johnson was the lone Hoosier to get drafted, four others have signed UDFA deals with NFL teams so far—Whop Philyor with the Minnesota Vikings, Harry Crider with the Philadelphia Eagles, Stevie Scott with the New Orleans Saints, and Jerome Johnson with the Miami Dolphins. We’ll keep you posted as more deals reel in for former IU football players.

Now is the time for roster changes, so as players decide to opt into the 2021 NFL draft, enter the transfer portal or return for another year at IU, Hoosier Huddle is here to keep you updated.
The Hoosiers filled one of the two holes in the coaching staff, left by running backs coach Mike Hart who left Indiana for his alma mater and defensive coordinator Kane Wommack who stepped up to the South Alabama head coach position. The former University of Georgia defensive backs coach Charlton Warren’s was hired as IU’s new defensive coordinator. We’ll keep you posted on the running backs coaching search.
