For Zen Michalski, A Big Change Is Exactly What He Needed

Michalski made the change from left tackle to right tackle during the spring.

Following a four-year stint at Ohio State, Zen Michalski was in desperate need of a change. The transfer offensive tackle had just begun to find his footing with the Buckeyes when an injury caused him to miss the final 9 games of the 2024 season. After that, it was clear that a change of scenery was needed. As Michalski explained to the media on Thursday, “I think a change of scenery was definitely something I needed. When you are at a place for four years, I think that new coaches and new people, the environment, has been huge for me. It has been great. I just think I am so blessed to be here.”

Indiana senior offensive lineman Mike Katic was blunt with his answer about what is pushing him and the rest of the offensive line so far this year. “We kind of really want to prove to all the noise out there that you know, we’re we can play and we can protect.” Katic said.

It was painfully obvious what plagued Indiana’s offense the last two seasons, the offensive line. To remedy the issue, Tom Allen hired Bob Bostad formerly of the Wisconsin Badgers to be the Hoosiers offensive line coach in 2023. Bostad is a no nonsense coach who does not want to be in the spotlight. He just wants to coach as evidenced in a recent ‘Mic’d Up’ session for IU’s social media team.
