The Indiana Hoosiers football team had three defenders named to the 2025 Bronco Nagurski Award Watch List. Linebacker Aiden Fisher, stud Mikial Kamara and cornerback D’Angelo Ponds were all listed among the best defenders in the country.

Spring practice is underway in Bloomington, and the Hoosiers are looking to build upon the success of their historic 2024 season. A large part of this success was due to the talented transfers that Coach Cignetti brought with him from James Madison. Cut to 2025, and the Hoosiers have another talented transfer portal class that is looking to make an immediate impact on the field this fall. Following their second spring practice, several leaders on the team met with the media to share their thoughts on how they feel the transfers are fitting in.

By now, you probably know who Aiden Fisher is. The All-American linebacker had a colossal year leading the Hoosiers defense which was considered one of the best defenses in the country in 2024. Last season, Fisher had 118 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. He was a great leader for the entire defense and now that he decided to return, he will be looked at to lead the team once again. But this is a very different team from previous years. With the amount of success the Hoosiers achieved last season, some of the young guys needed a reality check when they first arrived in Bloomington.

2024 was a milestone and memorable season for the Indiana Hoosiers.
