Jonathan Crawford, Largo, FL, Largo HS, 247 Sports Composite Ranking 3-Star

Jonathan Crawford, from Largo, Fl, is rated 3-stars by 247 Sports composite rankings and is the 914th best prospect in the nation. At 6-2 175 pounds Crawford brings a body that is close to being Big Ten ready add in the 4.7 speed he possesses and there is a really nice prospect. He will add depth to a young safety group and could possibly redshirt as a freshman. A redshirt year would allow Crawford to improve his body and speed with a full year in a college weight and nutrition program. He was recruited to IU by offensive coordinator Kevin Johns and offensive line coach Greg Frey. Crawford also had offers from Wisconsin, Rutgers, Iowa, Minnesota, Louisville, and Virginia among others.

Crawford played both offense and defense during his senior season. He accounted for 596 all-purpose yards and three scores. On defense, where he played the majority of the time, Crawford racked up 69 total tackles and two interceptions. The Hoosiers need Crawford to come in and compete right away for a spot in the secondary as they lost the services of starting corners Tim Bennett and Michael Hunter and safety Mark Murphy.
