Hoosiers Announce 2020 Awards at Annual Football Banquet

The Indiana football program held their annual awards banquet on Thursday night to commemorate the 2020 season in which the Hoosiers finished 12th in the AP Poll with a record of 6-2. Tom Allen gave out 19 awards to 26 different players. The ceremony was also highlighted by the inaugural Chris Beaty Award, an award given in honor of Chris Beaty, a former Hoosier football player who walked on to the team and was killed last summer trying to thwart a robbery. Below are the award winners:

Mental Attitude Award: Devon Matthews and Matt Bjorson

Ted Whereatt Senior Academic Excellence Award: Harry Crider

Corby Davis Memorial Award (Outstanding Back): Stevie Scott and Jamar Johnson

Howard Brown “Dedication to IU Football” Award: Haydon Whitehead

Chris Dal Sasso Award (Outstanding Lineman): Jerome Johnson and Harry Crider

Harold Mauro “Loyalty to IU Football” Award: Ahrod Lloyd

Chris Beaty Outstanding Walk-on Players of the Year: Christian Harris and Davion Ervin-Poindexter
