We are at halftime here at Memorial Stadium and the Hoosiers trail 14-13, but there are plenty of positives to takeaway from the first 30 minutes of action. Indiana's defense held the FIU offense to 165 yards and just five first downs. Also, after starting 9-12 on passing, Panthers quarterback Alex McGough just went 1 of 4 to finish the half.
Some keys to getting a victory is the Hoosiers capitalizing on red-zone opportunities. While they scored on all three visits inside the 20, they only got to the End-Zone once. And while they didn't turn the ball over in the first half, they did put the ball on the turf twice, which they luckily recovered. Also, even though Hoosiers just gave up 165 yards, it was on 24 plays, an average of 6.9 yards, an area to keep an eye on during the final 30.
Now to the second half, we will have plenty more at the conclusion of tonight's exciting match up between the Hoosiers and the Panthers.
