Countdown to 2020 IUFB Kickoff: 87 Days Part 2 (Jack Cardillo)
/Written by Nate Comp
Part two of Day 87 of the Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kickoff focuses on kicker Jack Cardillo.
Jack Cardillo (Redshirt Junior)
Height: 6’1”
Weight: 180 Pounds
Hometown: Evergreen, Colorado
Position: Kicker
Jack Cardillo is a walk-on kicker that has yet to see game action with the Hoosiers. An athletic kicker, Cardillo actually did not play football in high school until his senior year after quitting the soccer team with hopes of becoming a wide receiver. Instead, he found a home at the kicker and punter positions, where he landed himself on the all-conference list his senior year.
After the fourth and final spring practice this offseason, special teams coach Kasey Teegardin spoke of Haydon Whitehead, Jared Smolar, Sean Wracher, Charles Campbell, and Cardillo saying: "The unit has a lot of talent. That helps so I can focus more on the schematic side in changing a few things. It makes it a lot easier having Big Ten talent at the specialist positions."
Cardillo was a direct admit to the Kelley School of Business and has been an Academic All-Big Ten selection the past two seasons as a business management major.
