Countdown to Kickoff: #7 – Jordan Jusevitch

Height: 6’1”

Weight: 200 pounds

Hometown: Lowell, Indiana

Class/Position: Freshman/Safety

One of the most talked about aspects of this season has been the talent, speed, and strength of the freshmen class. They have all learned and developed quickly in the program. With the defensive unit losing a number of starters from last year, the Hoosiers have players and a lot of depth to replace. Freshman defensive back from Lowell, Indiana, Jordan Jusevitch is going to be a player that has the opportunity to see a lot of field time for the Hoosier defense in upcoming years.

Jusevitch was one of three finalists for 2017 Indiana Mr. Football Honors and was an Indiana Football Coaches Association Top 50 selection in 2016 and 2017 and was named the 2017 Northwest Times and Northwest Post-Tribune Defensive Player of the Year. He lead the program’s all time tackles and interceptions finishing with 416 stops, 251 solo tackles, 19 for a loss, three sacks, 18 interceptions, six forced fumbles with five recoveries and two blocked field goals.

He was ranked the number 92 safety nationally by ESPN and the number 16 prospect in Indiana by Rivals. Jusevitch is a tremendous athlete and has the opportunity to be a huge force for the Hoosier defense. He is a part of the young group of defenders but now has fall camp and the first week of real practice under his belt to continue his development and learning process.
