62 days remain until kickoff of the 2021 IU football season. The Hoosiers will kick off the season against Iowa on Sept. 4th. Make sure to keep checking the Hoosier Huddle website each day for a new player in the 100-day countdown. Day 62 features red-shirt freshman Cameron Knight.

Cameron Knight

Height: 6’3’’

Weight: 281 pounds

Hometown: Noblesville, IN

Position: Offensive Line

In the 2020 season, Knight did not see any playing time for the Hoosiers, but was on the scout team. Knight won scout team player of the week, during Maryland week.

In high school, Knight was an all-state selection during his senior year playing at Noblesville High School. He was also named to the IndyStar super team. Coming out of high school, Knight was the No.12 prospect in Indiana according to Rivals.

Knight’s brother Brandon was a highly successful player for the Hoosiers and is now with the Dallas Cowboys. The Hoosiers are hoping that Cameron will follow in his footsteps.

Knight had a solid spring practice and was mentioned by offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan.

“. I am trying to think without missing players, and guys that took a lot of reps and stepped forward. Guys like Cameron Knight, Joshua Sales Jr., Randy Holtz, and Tim Weaver, and I'm sure there are others, but guys that are younger, developing offensive linemen in our program that we are really excited about. We think they have bright futures, but it is a developmental position.” Sheridan said. “You are talking about the biggest, strongest part of the game. You are getting on the line of scrimmage. Not only from a physicality standpoint, but also from a communication and recognition at this level of football it takes time. Those guys are doing a good job and coach Darren Hiller is as good as there is.”

Coming into this year Knight will look to add some depth to the position that struggled last year at times.
