Kervens Bonhomme, 6’1.5”, 225 pounds, Clearwater, FL (Clearwater Academy International), OLB, 247Sports Composite Ranking: 3-star (85.34)

Indiana has drilled into the Sunshine Pipeline yet again, adding another player from the talent-rich state of Florida to their roster. Much like his Clearwater Academy International teammate Sio Nofoagatoto’a, this story has an international twist though. Kervens Bonhomme, a well-built linebacker, is originally from St. Catharines, Ontario. Yes, the Hoosiers now have a Canadian on the roster! After playing mostly rover or safety when he played in Ontario, Bonhomme was switched to full-time linebacker when he moved to the talented school in Clearwater for his senior season. He is a versatile player that played as an inside and outside linebacker and lined up as a pass rusher.

Speed is a bit of an issue as he was clocked at just 4.93 in the 40 yard dash (per 247sports.com) but his highlight film shows a player that plays much quicker than that time. He moves to the ball well and plays with good explosion and acceleration at the snap. As he continues to learn the nuances of linebacker, Bonhomme should be able to have an impact at the position for the Hoosiers. IU is deep there for the 2019 season but they will lose a few seniors after this upcoming season and the Hoosiers have made it clear that they hope to rotate quite a few guys without a drop off in production. Bonhomme seems likely to be a four-game guy in 2019 but he’ll be needed during his time in Bloomington.
