People like Kassouf are why I wear ear pods and listen to music when playing. I never say a word when I’m in a hand. I just zone out and read the table!
Got to admit this is badass. Kassouf beat him with a pair of threes, called his bluff.

Not sure how the rules allow the organizers to single Kassouf out, but evidently the WSOP Main Event which famously has no shot clock has put Kassouf on a ten-second timer for each decision.
That’s pretty extreme even for tournaments with a timer fot every decision.
@kkott Top 78 minimum! $115,000 guaranteed.
But he’s terminally low on chips now. ~2,700,000.
Blinds now jumping from 60k/120k to 100k/250k. He could make the $135,000 pay jump but he’s got to double up to go deeper.
Spoke too soon. Seems he’s out in 77th place. Excellent showing. Hats off! That was fun having someone to root for.
@hhlurker Super cool. I'm seriously looking into starting a game up again now.
@hhlurker Yep, quite a ride for the young man and his family and friends. I'm sure his poker group was going crazy. So glad his Dad got to go out and experience it for a couple of days with him. They have a video of him with his name on the screen and he gets a full house to swipe a big pot, played at a table with Kassouf, got his name in the Poker News highlights, etc... Apparently he got north of 4 million in chips yesterday afternoon. He lost in both late sessions the last 2 days; wonder if the cards just didn't fall, or he was fatigued, or both? What memories, and $115K isn't a bad consolation prize!
I'll let you know what I hear back from his Dad. May see the parents over Labor Day.
@mcm666 not poker. Big win on Draftkings with over 220,000 entries. That win qualified me for a tournament with the same purse but with only 100 entries. The qualified tourney was pretty cool. They flew me and a guest to Scottsdale for an all expense paid 3 day weekend culminating in a live in person contest. I made a rather contrarian lineup. My attitude was play to win not cash out. I was doing poorly in the standings until the 4th quarter of that game. Suddenly all my players started clicking and I found myself in 6th place. If recall I had a RB on my squad who needed to score a touchdown. They were in scoring position around the 5 yard line but winning with time running out. I believe they chose to kneel instead of going for the TD. Within that top 6 I would have won if my guy scored. Disappointed but not upset. Still cashed out and had my big win to qualify.

Got a video of Marks last hand. Think he was down to about 1.5m, and got 10s and went all in. Unfortunately on the same hand 2 guys called, one with Qs and the other suited AJ, so I think Mark had about a 20% chance for the win. But, hit a 10 on the flop for trips, although also 2 diamonds, so AJ was 4 to a flush. Next card was a Q and the river didn't change anything so Qs knocked out both guys I believe. I think he did the right thing in that spot with 10s though. Quite a run for a 28 yo first timer amateur poker guy!
Great experience for the young man and everyone involved.
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.
