@arthur-dent In Bloomington we would eat at Mustards which isn't there anymore. I'll never forget before an IU game my oldest boy when he was 10 ate a whole burger. Those things were huge.

While I regarded God as a tyrant I thought my sin a trifle; But when I knew Him to be my Father, then I mourned that I could ever have kicked against Him. When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I smote upon my breast to think that I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so, and sought my good.” C. H. Spurgeon

@evanalvarez8 Hmmm, Is Luca Pizza still around? A large cheese slice was a staple whenever I visited Greenwood Park Mall. I thought Godfather's had gone under, but there are a couple around the Carolinas I've seen. Remember Farrell's Ice Cream Parlour?  Shakey's Pizza, Pasquale's Pizza?

Second. A couple of friends and I ate at the Ria weekly, back 30 years ago when we worked together we are daily. I hated that Dave closed without warning, I would have gone one final time. But he was frustrated getting employees. And costs, he kept telling us that he would have to raise prices but didn't want to do that to his loyal customers.

@arthur-dent Cafe was a staple since I was in high school in the 70's.  It was remarkable their pie hadn't changed in 40 years.  Can't say that about Mother Bears. which in my opinion is a shell of what it was then.

I'd guess Pizzeria will be replaced with a big condo/apt thingy with street level retail -- the usual in Bloomington.

It will be sad to see that classic facade with the ivey go.

What retail, restaurant, service biz company do you miss most?

I miss browsing the shelves of Blockbuster.  Holding the VHS/Dvd’s seemed cool.  Was also an excuse to grab some ice cream.

I miss the Blackberry and buying Kodak film.  Something cool about grabbing a role of Black and white for the manual camera.

Speaking of Bloomington and speaking of pizza, anyone remember Get Some Pizza? On walnut by the Taco Bell? AMAZING

Miss me some Macri's Deli! Moved to the Bloomington area in the early 2000's and loved that place. Great sandwiches, good vibes and great (Large) cold beers! Seems like they always "Hired" quite well too.

The next time you see one, give it a try. I'm not saying it'll be the best sandwich you've ever had, but they're very good. And worth it for the nostalgia

Specific to Bloomington. Howard’s Bookstore & their cats. Laughing Planet. Loved their burritos.

I was good friends with Joie Canada. Was sorry she wasn't willing to sell. (No idea if anyone would have been interested.) But she was adamant that when she was done, Howard's was done.

@kkott There are a lot of Godfathers Pizza places in Convenient stores. Noble Romans went that route too.
