@goat That's awesome. Really says a lot about how good the laptop is. I really am gonna look into this - I need a new laptop and this one looks great. Thanks again!
PS - RDR2 is awesome, glad we have another player here, might be the best game ever made
I'm a retro Square geek. I'll probably never be able to rank anything above FF4. I know others think 6-10 and maybe even 12 are better, but at my age, 4 is the peak.
But RDR2 is very, very, very good. I mean phenomenal. It deserves the accolades.
Here's another one people often forget about, because everyone cares about Skyrim now. But I actually think Oblivion was the better game. I put so, so, so many hours into that.
My set up is pretty solid, but it's nearly 10 years old and about to be replaced since Windows is sunsetting support for Windows 10 in October. I can't see upgrading it to run Windows 11, so I will likely get a new PC soon. Nothing too crazy, since the games I play online aren't modern games, but I want it to be able to do more than that in case something new comes out that catches my eye. I reckon $1200-1400 range for something that will carry me through the next decade or so.
I built my current rig in late 2011 and can't for the life of me come up with a justification for building a new one. I intentionally went as high end as was reasonable/feasible at the time and hoped to make it relatively obsolescence-proof. So far so good. Of course, since I run Linux, I don't need to concern myself with the MSFT lockdown/lockout nonsense.
I've mostly been a console player since I was a kid. Lately it was a lot of The Show and Civilization 6. Never quite pulled the trigger on Civ 7.
I recently gave gaming up, to free up some time. Bought a fishing kayak, gonna try to relax outdoors more. Fixed a toilet yesterday. I'm not good at turning it off when it's time.

Honestly, I bet you'll have a lot more peace doing that. Being in nature and working with your hands are how we were intended to live life. I think that's a great decision!

@evanalvarez8 My first two fishing excursions suggest I should go back to gaming.
But, I haven't tipped over the kayak yet, so that's good, and it's cheaper than golfing.

Grand Tourismo 7. We’ve got a seat, wheel & pedals set up & I play a time or two a week. My son has the VR2 for his PS5 & it’s incredible with the game but I wear glasses & it’s just not comfortable enough unfortunately…
@oneeyedundertaker I've always wanted to try that. It looks so dang cool. I'm jealous!!

I tried hard, but fell back into my Civilization 6 addiction this week. Won a religious victory on level 5, so now I'm starting a level 6 game with Alexander the Great attempting a military win.

But I finally did catch a couple crappie last time I went kayaking. Might go again Sunday.

oh man I spent a lot of time on Oblivion. I think skyrim is better, but Oblivion was certainly revolutionary for its time.
I played them both withstupid special rules: no quick travel. I had to walk or ride a horse everywhere. Ran into a million surprises and the map was a total mess because of all the little special hole in the wall hideouts I found doing that.
