Last week my cousin calls me and says he has an extra ticket to see Amble at this tiny place in Columbus, Ohio. I'd never heard of them and almost passed on going. I'm really glad I didn't. Based on this thread, I think a lot of people here will like them too. Bonus points to them for being Irish. Two of them were teachers in Ireland two and half years ago. If they're coming around your way, check them out:
So I've been listening to Lori McKenna since she was just some random folk singer in Boston. Before she won her three Grammys. You should absolutely listen to the entire Kitchen Tapes album when you have time. It's worth it.
I like that sample. I’ve never listened to her music, but I will now. Her voice kind of reminds me of Stevie Nicks.
@ohio-guy Will check em' out
Hey - did you end up listening to Amble? Curious to hear what you thought.
I've been listening on and off since I went to that show a few weeks ago. They definitely grow on you.
I looked them up - 2 years ago two of them were teachers and one of them was a data analyst. I love success stories like that.
@ohio-guy Actually, no, I needed that reminder....I'll throw them on in the background right now.
@pliny-the-elder Love this song. Guy Clark is an underated talent....except for those that know.
Speaking of Boston folk singers.
(Written remembering his friend who died young whom he tried to talk to with a Ouija board.)
