He's not your son Fred.
Stop torturing me Ethel.
I was never a huge Oasis fan, but you can't deny that their reunion tour is music history, like it or not.
She was workin’ through college at my grandpa’s bar
Pourin’ drinks, servin’ smiles, under neon stars
But some nights after closin’, she’d slip out the back
Trade her apron for heels and a duffel bag
I was twenty, wide-eyed, mopin’ floors at the time
She said, “Baby, don’t judge me, I’m just tryin’ to climb”
She danced for the rent, and she danced for the dream
To be somethin’ more than the girl in between
She said, “This ain’t forever, it’s just how I get by”
A little whiskey, a little cherry wine
And the truth in her eyes
She’d come back in tired, makeup wiped clean
Talk about poets and her nursing degree
She laughed at the drunks, let the small talk roll
But she kept her past locked up tight as gold
I saw her pain in the way that she smiled
But Lord, she had fire, like a Tennessee child
She danced for the rent, and she danced for the dream
To be somethin’ more than the girl in between
She said, “This ain’t forever, it’s just how I get by”
A little whiskey, a little cherry wine
And the truth in her eyes
Some folks would whisper, some wouldn’t understand
But I saw a fighter with grace in her hands
She wasn’t an angel, she wasn’t a saint
But she loved with a heart that could carry your weight
She danced for the rent, and she danced for the dream
Now she’s savin’ lives wearin’ hospital green
She said, “That girl on the stage helped this woman survive”
With a shot of belief and cherry wine
And the truth in her eyes
Yeah, she was workin’ through college at my grandpa’s bar…
Now she’s lightin’ the dark, just bein’ who you are
If men were any more stupid, we would have breed for the extinction of women. Proof yet again that WE are the best thing they have going for them.
There were signs, but I didn’t think they were serious!
loves been a little bit hard on me

The Graystones - these kids are incredible, and I love their choice of music.
More from The Graystones. Love the video from the living room and how they pan to the horns, etc.
Heard a local guy do a really good cover of this and made me find Steve doing it. Dude loves representing the under represented.
I don't know if anyone cares about this but a few recommendations that maybe someone else will get enjoyment of:
Watchhouse (formerly Mandolin Orange), Mipso, The Last Revel, Caamp, The Mighty Poplar (Andrew Marlin's folk group)...have a good weekend everyone!
Bit of country twang to them: Flatland Cavalry, Turnpike Troubadours
Have a good weekend!
I've been hearing this on Outlaw Country channel. Grew on me.
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

My family and I drove over to the Elkhart County Fair and went to a Skillet concert. It was pretty good. My grandson likes their song called Monster,so he was very happy when they played it.My youngest grandson who is disabled had a blast. We were worried it might be too loud for him and brought ear phones for him,but he didn't need them. Proud of that 5 yr old .
While I regarded God as a tyrant I thought my sin a trifle; But when I knew Him to be my Father, then I mourned that I could ever have kicked against Him. When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I smote upon my breast to think that I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so, and sought my good.” C. H. Spurgeon
RIP Chuck Mangione. As a band guy / brass player, rare was it that an instrumental made it to top 40 radio, but Chuck did it with Feels so Good.
I had to find a way to try the flugelhorn.
