Reds won the season series, so they hold the tiebreaker.
Both 80-76, with 6 games left
Getting very good pitching lately
I have been a fan since the 1970 Series w the Orioles

I'm not going to say anything to jinx it, but it's fun to be pulling for the Reds to actually be able to do something at this point in the season. I know that's a low bar, but it is what it is, I guess.
Slight misstep in losing to the lowly Pirates, but after 5 wins in a row I can't complain too much. Need more offensive production, though.
The Mets rallied to win and are a game up on both the Reds and the Diamondbacks, with 5 games to go. The Reds have tiebreakers over both the Mets and Diamondbacks, so a tie (either 2 way or 3 way) favors the Reds.
Come on, guys!

I don't like the Reds, but I hate the Mets, so I'm rooting for the Reds. I'd also rather see the reds get in and then beat the Dodgers.
Last night was a bummer, losing to the lowly Pirates again, but at least the Mets and Diamondbacks lost too.
Today the Reds won 2-1, the Diamondbacks are losing, and I will hold my nose and cheer for the Cubs tonight, since they play the Mets

Back in playoff position! 2 to go....

Backed in, sort of, but I will take it! I say "sort of" since winning 9 of your last 13 is really earning it, even if you lost the last game.
Dodgers will be tough. Pitcher's chance though, with Greene, Lodolo, and Abbott

Well, that kinda sucked.
Getting in over the Mets shows that payroll isn't the ONLY thing, but the Dodgers with their bought lineup showed that payroll is still a HUGE thing.
Probably weren't going to beat them, when the Reds can't score with the based loaded an no outs and down by a run, but some things make you scratch your head, and I have always been pro-Terry Francona.
Not yanking Littell sooner, like when 2-0 became 2-2.
Not finding a way for Andrew Abbott, an All-Star starting pitcher, to even touch the ball.
Nick Lodolo only got 14 pitches.
The hottest Reds hitter going into this series, Sal Stewart, sat the bench for game 1 (though his error in game 2 was costly).
Hayes and McLain went 2-13 and are 2 of the weakest hitters in the league. Maybe you can play one of them, Hayes especially due to his D, but playing both makes a black hole in the lineup.
But it's better than not making it at all and maybe they learned something.
