Coolest Stadiums You've Ever Visited?

What are some of the coolest stadiums you've ever seen in person? Could be any sport.

For me, nothing fancy but I've been a big New York Mets fan my entire life through my dad. Didn't grow up near NY though, so didn't have much opportunity to see games in person. We've visited a handful of times through my life though and each time it is just so cool. Baseball hits different sometimes, especially when it is your favorite team.

Taking my heart outside of the equation, PNC Park is always a joy to visit as well.

Fenway was a cool visit.

Ray Winder Field in Little Rock.  I think it's been demolished by now, but I worked there for a summer.

Rose Bowl was cool, but I wish the weather had been better.

Been to a lot of places, just not sure how many of them I'd say were cool to visit the structure itself vs the game I was attending being meaningful.

The Rose Bowl was very cool as was Northwestern's Lake Side Stadium. I love Kaufman Stadium in KC. I love a lot of the old college football stadiums (Illinois, Notre Dame)

The old Tigers stadium was very cool, and I got to see a game during its last season.

Fenway is on my list.  I missed the old Yankee stadium and regret that.

Candlestick was the coldest I've ever been at a baseball game in the summer.  Stupidly wore shorts and a t-shirt and didn't bring a jacket.  When that shadow started creeping across the stadium, I froze my ass off.

Kind of like @gros-louis I've been to a bunch of places, but not sure how many are really memorable outside of the 2 I listed because of nostalgia.

I also went to Tiger Stadium its final year. Sat in the outfield.  I don't remember a lot about it, other than this.  The night before, I was at Victory Field and saw Russell Branyan hit 3 HRs for whoever Indy was playing.  Would have been the Cleveland AAA team, I think.  Then I go to Detroit the next day and I see Trot Nixon hit 3 HRs for the Red Sox.  I'd never seen 3 dingers in a game in pro baseball in person in my life and saw it on back to back days.

Wow.  That's an incredible 2 day stretch.

We were doing work for Ilitch Holdings, so we got a tour of the new Tiger Stadium, and I mentioned I'd recently moved up there and had never been to the corner and had become a Tigers fan during Sparky's time up there.  I ended up with 12 tickets for everyone in the office who was involved.  It was a really cool experience based on that alone.  I should have told them I'd never been to the Joe for a Wings game either.

I very much want to see a game at Northwestern's Lake Side Stadium. Unfortunately, this likely won't be a football game anymore! Maybe IU Soccer @ NW?

@thehoosierhuddle That'll be cool - such a unique venue. Won't be able to make those, but will definitely try to make a non-football game there at some point

I haven't been to enough stadiums to really judge, but for all you thinking back fondly on old Tiger Stadium, I will say that I've never had a bad time at Comerica. Good seats, bad seats, always been spectacular.

Basketball - Cameron Indoor Stadium - Duke. History. Atmosphere. But HOT.

Basketball - Assembly Hall, but only the lower section.

Basketball - Owensboro (Ky) Sportscenter - saw hundreds of games here. It opened in 1949 with a UK game. It was billed as The Basketball Showpalace of the South. Used to officially seat 7200. Then fire marshall's limited it to 5,000. A great place to watch basketball.  Saw some GREAT players there. Saw the Globetrotters. Leonard "Truck" Robinson.  Fly Williams. Travis Grant (graduated from Kentucky State as the all-time/all-division scoring leader (4,045). Kenny Higgs (LSU, SEC Assist Record, NBA Jazz). Rex Chapman. Charles Oakley.

Basketball - Roberts Stadium - Evansville. Another great basketball joint. Hosted D-II tournaments that outdrew the D-I crowds.

Football - Nothing beats the view from the top row of the west side of Memorial Stadium in the fall. But SITTING in it is uncomfortable. Same of Ohio Stadium and Notre Dame - history, but uncomfortable. Texas has a nice football museum inside.  Except for Vandy, pick any SEC place and the experience is memorable.

Baseball - my first game was Crosley Field. Nothing special except the grass was the greenest green I have ever seen.  As a Cardinal fan - I vote to knock down Wrigley and build a real stadium in another state. Laughing/Crying

Best baseball:  New Yankee Stadium.  Physical facility is nice enough.  But what surprised me was the friendliness of staff and fans.  Surprising for NYC, but the friendliest sports stadium I visited.

Worst baseball:  Tropicana Field, Tampa.  Worst in every metric imaginable. Only saving grace is St. Pete is a neat city.

Best Football:  UVA.  Thomas Jefferson left his mark on the architecture, beautiful place.  Friendly fans also.

Worst Football.  University Wyoming.  Bad physical facility, bad weather, and cowboy fans are insufferable when they win and rude to mean when they lose.
