I watched the new documentary about the Idaho Four and have now taken a deep dive. After watching, I went back to find all the Datelines, 20/20 and news broadcasts. Then I ordered a 400+ page book that I read in a day. I really want to know his motive and target. This one hit hard with it being college, sorority kids just out celebrating a game day. Can’t stop thinking about it.
Occasionally, not very often. I remember I couldn't stop thinking about Lauren Spierer's disappearance and followed that pretty closely. Before that, Susan Smith who reported that her kids were kidnapped in a carjacking but she'd driven the car into a lake and killed them down here in NC/SC. Those 2 stand out.
@kkott Yes Lauren Spiers was the main other one I did. Happening in Bloomington and all…
@zeke4ahs I always chuckle when folks say they want to know a mass killer's motive. I know what it is, and it's always the same: "he's f'king" crazy!" That's it. There is no rational reason behind it. Their brain is wired faultily.

<not blaming the victim>
Spierer was known to be an over the top problem drinker, far worse than your typical wild college student. I believe she died that night from alcohol poisoning or an alcohol induced injury, and the people she was with panicked and disposed of her body.
@kkott I know but why those particular people? He stalked them so he definitely was going after them.
@unclemark I think they gave him some type of party drug and that’s why they panicked. I can’t imagine they’d panic like that if they had no involvement whatsoever.
My wife is watching the documentary about the killings of those two girls in Delphi. She talks about it a lot.
While I regarded God as a tyrant I thought my sin a trifle; But when I knew Him to be my Father, then I mourned that I could ever have kicked against Him. When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I smote upon my breast to think that I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so, and sought my good.” C. H. Spurgeon
Ugh, I hate true crime. I don't begrudge other people who like it but for me it's like coming home from work to watch people be bad at my job.
Someone I work with is obsessed with true crime podcasts, and we talk about the Lucy Letby case on the regular.
@goat I will at times listen to podcasts and shows about Cosa Nostra the American Mafia. It is an interesting subject because it is part of the American experience. Also there is the irish and russian mobs who operate in the U.S. There are a lot of characters and stories from these different groups.

My wife @sarahemillernp5026 has been watching the University of Idaho murders. She just bough a book too.
@vanpastorman So fun fact. My father was the lawyer for Ralph Scopo in the US v. Mafia Commission. His best friend was Bruce Cutler who was John Gotti's lawyer.
