2026 Oscars

. . . was horrible.  Worst written Oscars I can remember. Jokes were nearly all cringe-worthy bad from the presenters, despite some of them giving it their all to sell them.  Conan I don't find funny--I actually prefer Kimmel, minus his need to remind us of his politics at every turn.

Speeches were meh. Loved that Amy Madigan won (although not sure that was the best performance in the category) and had no idea she was married to Ed Harris. Michael B. Jordan's win was cool to see, although, again, I don't think his was even the second best performance in that category this year.

More importantly, @zeke4ahs @sharincarmel @mcmurtry66 Tim Chalamet brought a smoke show with him.  Ann Hathaway won the best dressed award--that was truly elegant. Nick Jonas is a lucky man with Priyanka Chopra.  And Demi Moore--my God, woman, EAT SOMETHING.

Now going to go watch Sentimental Value given all the nominations it got.

@bradstevens I disagree because I find Conan to be a lot more funny than Kimmel. But to each their own. Michael B. Jordan winning was very appropriate because Sinners was a great film. My youngest son and I would like for there to be a prequel on how the Indians got involved with the hunting of vampires/vampire.

While I regarded God as a tyrant I thought my sin a trifle; But when I knew Him to be my Father, then I mourned that I could ever have kicked against Him. When I thought God was hard, I found it easy to sin; but when I found God so kind, so good, so overflowing with compassion, I smote upon my breast to think that I could ever have rebelled against One who loved me so, and sought my good.” C. H. Spurgeon
