Yes, and I was repeatedly called a liar for describing my research, background, and expertise. I didn't disclose my name or University until I made a post after DOGE cancelled major grants for bogus reasons last year.
The stupid RFK DOGE fallout crap is still going on. NIH told me that a grant application I had recently submitted was inconsistent with NIH objectives because it involves climate change studies. The grant was to make antiviral drugs for a notorious mosquito borne virus. They did a keyword search and saw a sentence in the background that read "Pandemic concerns for mosquito borne viruses have increased in recent years with the expansion of range of carrier mosquitos with climate change"
I resubmitted with a modified sentence "Pandemic concerns for mosquito borne viruses have increased in recent years due to the invasive nature of carrier mosquitos"
Set me back 6 months, but hopefully it flies.
