I am thrilled there appears to be some de-escalation. If Trump is behind it, good for him. There are a lot of rumors Bovino is losing some of his power. At a minimum he is leaving Minneapolis.
Work out a plan that allows laws to be enforced while not acting like thugs. You hate, HATE Dems and don't care what happens to the people of Minnesota. Arresting the mayor guarantees riots, and not just in Minnesota. Look for video of a Dallas protest march to see how many in deep red Dallas. Look at polling that show almost all Dems, Independent, and some Republicans question the process.
I sure don't like Trump, but if he is behind backing off and reset to plan B, kudos. Some of us are willing to look past our biases.

It's representative of broken governance. From the state to the municipal level. At some point examples need to be made. Trump is overbearing but he's following the law. Frey/Walz don't want to the follow the law. The bad guys here for anyone objective are obvious.

If the mayor broke laws, limitations doesn't expire for quite some time. Plenty of time to deescalate. De-escalation is number 1 priority. We can all live with a few more brown people for a few more weeks.

Continue the deportations with a lower profile, sideline Noem and Bovino, maybe “promote” Noem to ambassador to Malaysia or something.

Trump is nothing if not plugged in to the mood of his base, and he was rapidly losing support. Regardless of motive, this stand-down is the right move, one I advocated -- to much derision -- just a couple days ago.
