I'm glad that you are in complete agreement with exactly what I stated, when I asked for a lawyer to offer a opinion as to whether it is akin to a cop asking to search your car, when he has no right to do so unless (for example) he can clearly see drugs in the back seat.
It's up to you as a citizen to know that you do NOT have to consent, that you do not have to forfeit your rights. Here we presumably have a a citizen who knows that she does NOT have to consent, that she does not have to forfeit her rights.

Yes and no. Civil society requires some level of compliance with law enforcement, and I'd argue these anti-ICE people are pushing things way too far. We have a system that allows for post hoc examination of the activity at issue with constitutional due process protections. So instead of preemptively ruling on the matter yourself, which would cause anarchy when applied society wide, the typical course is to comply and then challenge.This sounds wrong.
