3) I then linked a video of that exact thing happening. Moreover, it indicates that the reason was not any suspicion of criminal behavior by the woman stopped, but rather a general desire to do an "immigration sweep"
4) then there have been crickets chirping from CoH and people claiming that I am pretending to be a lawyer.

I did and it is worthless. We need to know everything that occurred before ICE asked for her ID.

The video may not be extensive enough to tell you everything that you want to know, but it is hardly worthless.
It shows for certain that:
1) the woman was on a public sidewalk.
2) the officer did in fact ask her for ID and said that she would be detained if she didn't provide it (things which which you insisted never happens)
3) the officer did ask if she was a citizen. She repeatedly complied, saying that indeed she was, and that she was in her neighborhood and where she belongs.
4) Points 2 and 3 could be justified, if there was suspicion that she had committed a crime. But the video, in the officer's own words, shows this not to be the case. He wants to see her ID not to associate her with any specific criminal activity, but as part of an "immigration sweep"

They can be detained if htey have reason to believe they are here illegally. Not in the throes of committing a crime or anything like that. If she's here legally prove it. Should take two seconds.

@shooter I wasn't there. I don't have the benefit of knowing. I'd sure as hell be suspicious that something was up the second she said no. SOmeone needs to remind her you're in America not Mogadishu. We work together. Comply. It's the fabric that prevents us from needing AK47 carrying military guys up and down the sidewalks, well unless you let progressives govern I guess.
