Maybe your correct, but there is no historical evidence that Trump operates as you describe. He's argued for exact opposite for most of his life. Time will tell if he's lying or if your TDS is flaring up again.

If there is also the object of making Trump look like a victorious conqueror, then, well...
The object is to flip Venezuela away from China and Russia. I'm guessing we don't stop meddling until we get the govt. we can at least tolerate, which means one that will rid itself of Chinese influence. All I can say at this point is, they better have the goods on the narco-terrorism charges or we are going to lose a hell of a lot of credibility and goodwill with the rest of the world. I wonder who Maduro hires as his defense counsel? He's going to have his choice of the best of the best, so Trump's DOJ better have a top-notch trial lawyer ready to go. A flunky or lackey would be embarrassed in court if they don't have an air tight case.
