It would be sensible to elect people based on the best ideas but pretending everything equals everything and that the dems have been just as evil as Trump is just not factual.
I can understand not liking dem policies but dem that has been anywhere near as bad as trump. And the dems that have been caught in scandals or doing something despicable have by and large been kicked to the curb...not idolized by the majority of the party. You don't see people walking around with Anthony Weiner hats and voting him for president.

I call myself an independent, since, though I have always supported every non-MAGA GOP presidential candidate over the past 45 years, I have regularly split my ticket to vote for down ballot candidates that I admire on both sides of the aisle. For example, as a teen I worked for Dick Lugar's campaigns. At that time my representative was a Dem, Lee Hamilton, a brilliant statesman and foreign policy expert that I always voted for.
Because I, with ample justification, consider Trump to be a massive SHITSTAIN ON THE HISTORY of the presidency and of the republic as a whole, people ignore my consistently clearly-stated traditionally conservative policy views, such as balancing budgets, securing borders, protecting children, supporting law enforcement, supporting the military while not demanding that they be policemen for the world, keeping men out of women's sports, etc. I do have a few views that are of course apparently not (or are NO LONGER) mainstream GOP views, such as opposing white supremacy, supporting the separation of church and state, following the Constitution...
