@ohio-guy LOL are you laughing while you write this? If anything the left has moved even farther left. Now they want socialism. They hire staffers that want to confiscate private property. To defund. NYC is the locus of the Party and a totem for what they believe.
@ohio-guy Dems can never win on immigration because they have zero credibility on the issue. They created the problem. You think an arsonist can win as fire chief? Dems have one chance to win, and it is the only chance yet a good one: focus on affordability. Don't bark about LGBZTXY, weirdos being run over by ICE who should have listened to authority, taking our property, socialism, etc. In other words the Dems need to not be Dems.
Affordability and job creation. Win back the normal working class families not the pronouns wifes with wifes and a kid in transition.

That's what I've been trying to tell you. THAT's what any Democratic hopeful in 2028 is going to run on. And the immigration thing can be a winner for Democrats. Joe Biden isn't running in 2028.
You think an arsonist can win as fire chief?
You might be onto something here. Trump band-aid approach to fixing the damage his tariffs did the economy isn't polling well.
THAT's what any Democratic hopeful in 2028 is going to run on.
No they won't. They'll run on the same woke nonsense they are running on today. The inflection point was the last election. When they got destroyed. Something like 88 percent of the counties in the United States moved more right, but instead they've doubled down with Mamdani, Newsom hammering billionaires and corporations, on and on.
@ohio-guy The truth is that the Dem Party leaders are largely dumb people. Letting the working class get away over cultural issues was moronic. The trannies, the LGBQTXY, minorities, they are baked in for the Dems. They don't want Republicans. But instead they focused on things Joe Bag of Doughnuts electrician doesn't want to hear about. And Trump swooped in. If Dems create a plan that focuses on Joe Bag of Doughnuts electricians and the neighborhood cops they will win easily. Dems should never lose an election. They are their own worst enemy.
Don't let the fraud lie to you about who he is. It's transparently him. The vocabulary he uses is spot on and he's always been highly effeminate in his writing style.
Are you going to take this Sharon?
@jdb This child believes someone played D1 baseball and D1 soccer 🤣. Dumb as it gets.
By and large, lax border security, DEI, and the host of other things mentioned in this thread aren't in the Democratic platform writ large.

I think people generally do approve of the border essentially being closed.
The MAGA focus on characterizing essentially all undocumented residents as hardened violent criminals who are out to destroy our lives and our country certainly did resonate with voters. It was untrue, but the expressed objective of getting rid of violent criminals was a winning election strategy and even a goal we could all embrace. I don't want violent criminals around me, wherever they are from.
But then the Gestapo came into being.
Then the Gestapo had mission creep.
Getting rid of the violent criminals among the undocumented became getting rid of all undocumented.
Then it became detaining, harassing, and making life miserable for anyone that looks, to them, like a foreigner
Then it became detaining, harassing, and making life miserable for anyone that doesn't like what they are doing or who holds up mean signs. Then they decided that deadly force was OK.
That's where we are. Not many voted for that.

@sharinincarmel I really wish McMurt were here so he could comment on this story...

Hey, maybe you have some friends or relatives in the area?
A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"
@all4you I have seen that published in places that aren’t the BBC and let me just say the comments section is something else.
The very first comment I saw was:
I saw one breaking into my Kia last night!
How many illegal immigrants need to be. druggies, rapists, and other criminals before you would agree that ICE must be more aggressive with enforcement?
The bill would be letting exponentially more in per day than are now. What makes you think Dems wouldn’t go back? Specifics. Quotes, interviews, etc.
DEI is gone because of Republicans. What makes you think the people that put it there in the first place wouldn’t reinstate it?
I’m glad you can acknowledge that these are failed Dem policies - why would we put them in charge again after the monumental failures of the previous administration. You still haven’t provided a shred of evidence that the party doesn’t want those things anymore.
So your whole argument is that you 'just know' Democrats want to reenact policies that got them voted out of office? The 'shreds of evidence' is that no one is actually running on any of the things you and a few others here 'just know' are going to make a comeback. It doesn't matter how something was defeated. Politicians typically want to run campaigns that get them elected.

So what are they running on?
So what are they running on?
Mainly the economy and more moderate Democratic policies. The gubernatorial races in New Jersey and Virginia are more of the model Democrats will use. Mamdani’s victory won’t scale to the rest of the country and I’m guessing Democrats won’t try to do that in more red/purple states.

What were the platforms in NJ and VA?
