social media makes it look like the "ultra woke" is a bigger crowd then what is actual reality. Then MAGA blanketly uses the term for anyone who doesn't agree 100% with Trump. "What!?! You don't like getting shot in the face 3 times for a traffic violation?!?! WOKE!!!!"

This is spot on. Trump and his current administration are the ring leaders on this - calling out journalists, judges and even Republican lawmakers who simply disagree with them - but more and more people on the right are dismissing anyone who is a card-carrying MAGA cultist as suffering from the woke mind virus.

If you use this board as an example, just about everyone who posts here uses common sense and probably pretty down to earth in real life (save for a few fringe elements). I make no secret about where I land politically, but I doubt anyone would ever tell me I'm 'too woke' or have 'the woke mind virus' to my face in real life.

By design, the fringe elements are the ones who get the most attention online. In real life, most people might differ politically but generally get along well enough.

@ohio-guy

Then explain to me how AOC is the voice of the party? Explain to me how NYC elects a radical socialist?  Is that not the mothership of Dems?  Are they not both ultra woke?   Here’s what is “spot on.”  If the party wasn’t ultra woke it would look radically different than it does. Biden would not have implemented ultra woke policies.  Your woke policies still wouldn’t be pushed.

The strangest thing in all of this is Dems desperately pretending not to be woke when everything they support is ultra woke.  Why not just own it?  Is it embarrassing to admit?

No kings marches and protests were real life and dumb as hell.

@co-hoosier @ohio-guy We had defund, bail projects, climate zealotry, open borders, welfare expansion, pronoun wars, trans wars, and now we have socialism, more calls for defunding, on and on and woke is fringe?  If something becomes policy in major areas that’s not fringe.

This really is you, isn't it Murt?

There are always outliers, but for the most part no mainstream Democrat is or will be running on 'ultra woke' policies. Again, disagreeing with MAGA actions, legislation, executive orders and proposed policies doesn't mean someone is 'woke.'

Yeah, but so are TPUSA and Trump rallies. I'd guess most the people you know haven't been to either.

@ohio-guy You are totally in denial.  Name who will be running that isn’t woke and name the policies they will push that won’t be woke.

The reality is NYC elected the most woke politician in the last almost 100 years.  Soros Dems are the only ones with juice. Centrist Dems are dead as Aloha’s GOP.

If you're not MCM, you really should connect with him. You two would get along swimmingly. He was scared of all that stuff too.

The operative word in what you wrote above is 'had.' That word is doing a lot of heavy lifting in what you wrote. What I'd tell MCM - and now you - is that there aren't people in 2026 and beyond who are running on any of that stuff. Shoot, Kamala Harris didn't run on most of that stuff in '24. Most of what you're scared of above hasn't been seriously pushed in the better part of the last half a decade.

How does who is the mayor of New York impact your day to day life in St. Louis Carmel? George Soros is 95 years old. It's time to pick a new boogeyman. If Dems win big in the midterms, it won't be on a platform of defunding the police or transgender bathroom laws.

@ohio-guy No present. Present. NYC. Is that not the heart of the Dem party?  Setting the narrative.    Our biggest city. Our biggest population? Where all the coverage goes. The left has only gone farther left since Harris. If it walks like a duck….  Why are you so afraid to say yes. And I like it?

@ohio-guy Is that a real question?  Soros touched communities all over the country. Hundreds of counties. He’s 95. Oh okay link the Secretary of State pages showing all of his funding arms dissolved.  It’s a simple filing. Thanks for that.

We will have defund as a secondary argument with all the rest as we are seeing in NYC. Have you seen the housing lady’s history?   Midterms will largely run on wealth redistribution.

You are willfully ignoring what is right in front of you.

New York City's mayor will have zero impact on my life, save for any visits I might make to New York while he is mayor. Same goes for the vast majority of Americans. If you don't want a socialist in a seat of power, don't move to NYC. I'm not sure NYC is the 'heart of the Dem party' and I'm not sure why you'd say that. Democrats in Missouri or Indiana aren't running on Mamdani's policies and never would. I'm not sure why you think that type of blanket statement about some ominous 'left' would fly.

@ohio-guy Because it is the heart of the Dem party and will set the narrative for national policies.  NYC and Calif.  it’s what we are talking about. National media.  No one else gets juice.

What can be more woke than open borders, paying for sex changes for minors, giving hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars to illegals, implementing DEI policies that are blatantly discriminatory against white males?  A serious question, what would “ultra-woke” look like?
