If you really think the best path is to tell everyone else how stupid they are, yes. That only worked because you had the Trump base as an anchor. There's a reason why every year Trump wasn't there to anchor it, you got demolished. Trump had this strange ability to turn out the disaffected white vote at record levels while also gathering up conservative blacks and Latinos in just enough numbers to fill the gaps. No one else can do that. None of you even know how to do it. You don't even know how Trump did it. And now, you're not even trying. You're willing to forget that the Trump base was necessary to justify the Trump arrogance. And instead, you're just going to run on the arrogance without the backing base. You're going to get clobbered. I'm flabbergasted you guys are dumb enough to think this is a winning strategy.
Here's a hint, although your political leaders will never accept it. Trump had one huge thing going for him: a cost of living crisis he could blame on the Democrats, which he was able to combine with the culture wars and the insensible fear of the left your voters have, and turn it all into a win. You don't have that. You don't have the pieces in 2026 or 2028 that he was playing with. You're doomed. And you're only making it worse by doubling down on dismissive arrogance. It's too early to say. I think, if the Repubs continue this path, the Dems win big this fall, yes. Def House, maybe Senate.

To paraphrase a famous line, it's not the economy, stupid. It's the cost of living. Go around and ask the average American worker what his raise was this year. I bet he says 2%. Not counting promotions and merit raises, just the regular guy keeping his same job. Bet it's 2%. Third year in a row it won't keep up with inflation, at least. Can't blame that on Biden anymore. Voters don't have memories long enough to pull that trick off.
