Between this and Schumer saying that the Democrat's goal was to get like 11 million illegal aliens naturalized, the Democrats are really doubling down on stupid.

 

@iucrazy2 Dems are stupid.  Sad that it has come to this but it has.  They want to kill off the individualism and ingenuity that built this country by removing incentives to prosper and grow.  We all know Reagan’s 9 words. Why would anyone build anything to give to this guy and AOC to give it to Somali daycares.

Invest in Florida fast!!  The amount of money that will flow from NYC to Miami in the next four years will be staggering.

That's embarrassing for you, then. Standing against Mamdani doesn't make one a conservative. If you think that, you don't understand what a conservative is, what a liberal is, and what a Leftist is.  And if your reaction to pushback on Mamdani is this strong, you must be pretty damn ignorant of the history of movements and ideologies that proudly defined themselves as collectivist and standing against individuality. 

All that said, I don't really care about labels all that much. Label me what you will.

It's not stupid for the Democrats leaders.  It would keep them in power and they'll still be wealthy.  It's stupid that Americans vote for them, but people are easily manipulated and clueless on economics.  

 

@bradstevens there is one huge line between anarchy and North Korea. All of Europe, Japan, Canada, South Korea are all more collective than we are and you should be smart enough to know that. Should be. Can you post pictures of collective thinking from Sweden, Norway?

Can I post a picture from countries with virtually no government, this the rugged individualist's dream? Haiti? Somalia? You want to move to Haiti?

Being against socialism (evil) doesn't make someone a conservative.  It's just being a decent and reasonable person.  

 

@snarlcakes @arthur-dent What made our country who it is is rugged individualism. What Dems want to do would destroy our country.  The little homogeneous countries you cite offer little comparison.  In fact there really isn’t much comparison anywhere to what the USA has built. Compare our start ups etc to Europe and anywhere else. Dems today stand for everything that made us special.  It’s so sad.

 

@snarlcakes Imagine all of these great founders. Great companies that built the American Dream. Slaving decades to do it. Then being told you have to give it to a bartender and a hip hop politician so they can fund Somalis.

@snarlcakes so you oppose all insurance? Isn't your health and homeowners insurance just socialism? Something bad happens to you and I have to pay for it?

Rugged individualism led to people literally starving on the streets in the Great Depression. You may have wet dreams of returning to those days, but the people that lived through it saw that pure "rugged individualism" didn't work any more than pure socialism. The question thinking people ask is where the line should be. Anyone who cheers pure socialism or pure anarchy isn't a thinking person.

@arthur-dent You’ve taken it to the extreme.  Insurance is based on spreading risk. I don’t think it’s analogous to wealth redistribution which is what we are really talking about.  The worst part of the redistribution is that it’s funneled through inept people and programs.  In many ways if the Dem government was going to steal the profits from our hardworking people they’d be better off with gbi than more programs and gov expansion.  At least with the former the money would recirculate vs form waste.
