@spartans9312 90% paid by American consumers?
31% in June paid by consumer
10% exporter to US
59% U.S. importer
There is a thought that companies selling to U.S. consumers have been operating at a much higher margin than was previously believed. Much more of these tariffs could be “eaten” than originally believed. And the States, being the consumer engine that it is, is really sensitive to price increases on foreign goods. They’ll move onto the next option.
Using the U.S. capacity for consumption as a leverage point is so wacky I understand people being skeptical at first. No one had thought to do that before. But it actually makes sense when you think about it. Most major economies can’t survive losing our market.
But what is the point?
Tariff revenues are really good. Might be 300b this year. Not gonna even come close to filling in the deficit though. Manufacturing gains will still be marginal if at all.
Why piss people off, what is the win?
Congratulations to all.

Use specifics. Your propaganda mantra is at once dumb and lazy. Go sell stupid somewhere else hickory. No one at this point other exceptionally low iq people buys ur bs

@carramrod he's a fiscal conservative after all🤷🏻♂️ They're raising a significant amount of money. At some point the economy is going to roll over with tax hikes this high or I'm going to rethink tariffs.

@shooter This morning, I'm of a mind to put all of those things you just mentioned at the feet of Democratic leadership. They are, and then by extension "we" also are.. in the "FO" stage of the FAFO exercise they've been so brazenly F'ing with, with the types of people they've been propping up and allowing to be the leaders of their party.
I dislike Trump, probably more than any other human on the planet right now... But I forced myself to watch Kamala Harris on Colbert last night, and I was reminded on how epically awful a candidate she was.
Everyone knew the risks of a 2nd term Trump admin. Its going to get worse, obviously, with the types of things you're mentioning. Just wait until the Epstein thing starts heating up more...he's going to be a like a cornered rabid dog. And he's also clearly declining himself cognitively. THAT will be soooo fun.
But until Democrats start propping candidates up that are more moderate, and pushing the power away from, and taking the microphone away from the AOC types... well, they're going to keep "finding out" how much most Americans hate the wacky parts of the woke culture. And unfortunately for most, right now, those wacky things are pushing more people away from the genuinely good aspects of the progressive movement and beliefs...than Trumps wacky moves and behavior are pushing people away from the good elements of conservatism.
Trump isn't "winning"...he's losing less than the alternatives are. Time for the party to grow the F up, get behind people like Shapiro, Beshear, Moore, Kelly, etc...
Like all government policies, there are winners and there are losers. Stllantis lays off 900.
stelantis is awful. Came out with products nobody wanted. Killing the Hemi was a big mistake. Plus their engines are completely awful.

Agree wholeheartedly. In my mind the 3 worst presidential administrations have been
worst: 47
2nd worst: 45
3rd worst: 46
The fact that Dems in 2020 could not upgrade much over the worst president ever (at the time, hold my beer) is not encouraging. If they don't get their act together for 2028 I might continue my lifelong trend of supporting every single GOP POTUS candidate not named Trump.
