Nobody knows or cares about or follows a kid on an NBA d-league or NFL semi-pro team. Put the same kid on a college team and everybody loves him.

 

His Name/Image/Likeness is enhanced WAY more by the school than the other way around. So the idea the schools have just been ripping off athletes is junk science. Yeah, it’s a 2 way street, but the schools built the street to begin with.

The NCAA screwed up when they used player likenesses in the video game.

Back when we were young, no one was really getting rich. John Wooden never made more than $35,000. Coaches started getting rich, ADs, NCAA execs, and players started wondering why they couldn't even get airfare to go to a funeral.

Oh yes, the NCAA getting rich and not just coaches probably upset players.
