Parkinson’s is a horrible disease and a horrible way to die. I feel sorry for Mueller and his friends and family who could do nothing but watch this progressive disease take his life. I’m watching a long time friend battle it as I write this.
Mueller was obviously not up to the job of special counsel. People knew that. Yet they propped him up and kept him in the position. The Russia investigation was mostly in the hands of Weissmann, who did not have the chops Mueller had when Mueller was at his best. While Mueller’s staff did not commit any crimes it certainly fell well below the professional standards we expect from our best lawyers as it proceeded with Crossfire Hurricane.
Mueller was an exemplary public servant. Sadly the final Russia investigation left him with a tarnished reputation which was foisted on him by unprofessionalism at his staff level, at the end of his career when he had diminished skills.

Robert Mueller was a helluva man growing up and an honorable man. People forget about his history as a soldier. He enlisted because one of his closest friends was killed in Vietnam. He was a well-respected and honorable attorney. Few remember, but it was Mueller and Comey who stood up to Bush and Cheney and said "the NSA spying on American citizens is completely unlawful, and it must stuff. By the same time, Mueller prohibited the FBI from engaging in waterboarding and threatened Cheney that he would resign if waterboarding was requirement of the FBI. Some may recall the significant battle between the CIA and FBI about waterboarding and the results of same. Mueller pointed out to Cheney and Bush that waterboarding never produced any reliable information. Why? because people said anything to make the suffering stuff. Conversely, the FBI was able to establish relationships with prisoners that engendered real, reliable and verifiable intelligence.
If I'm not mistaken, as FBI director he was confirmed by the senate twice by 100-0 votes and then given an extraordinary extension of 2 years past mandatory 10-year limitation (with congressional approval).

I recall Mueller being a strong supporter of the Patriot Act and the expanded surveillance authority of that law.
I don't think that is accurate--his private notes expressed real concern from some of the Act's provisions. But we aren't talking about the Patriot Act--we are talking about the NSA whose authority is SOLELY foreign intelligence collection overseas. Operation Stellar Wind was a Bush /Cheney plan to allow/continue to allow the NSA to spy on millions US citizens, eavesdrop, collect emails IN THE United States, and all without a warrant.

Mueller was definitely up for the job and should have recommended trump be prosecuted for treason.
Just because the piece of shit trump trashed Mueller doesn't mean Mueller tarnished his reputation by being an honorable public servant that did his job despite how influential the subject of his investigation was over ignorant pieces of shit that buy whatever trump tells them

On the other hand, Nick Fuentes, Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens are assholes, and they have locked in on a segment of American that is shockingly sizeable. Bummer about Tucker--he was a phenomenal writer back in the day.

I pretty much knew nothing about Kirk until after he was shot. I'd heard his name and that the MAGA crowd liked him, but that's about it. He didn't deserve to be shot; he was an American citizen who practiced his right of free speech.
