Most recently, on October 7, 2025, Russian lawmaker and former KGB officer Andrey Lugovoy openly called for Russia to exploit the political divide in the United States and actively push it toward "full political shutdown" and civil war

. In an appearance on Russian state TV, Lugovoy urged direct interference in the U.S. political system, suggesting that Moscow should "plant journalists and politicians" to sow further chaos.

This is not the first time such rhetoric has been used by prominent Russians:
  • Other state media commentators: In recent years, Russian state television personalities, such as Vladimir Solovyov and Sergei Mardan, have also relished and amplified news of American political and social unrest. For example, during unrest in Los Angeles in mid-2025, they described the events as a "civil war" and stated they were "enjoying what [they were] seeing".
  • Disinformation campaigns: Since at least early 2024, Russia has been waging disinformation campaigns, particularly on platforms like Telegram and X (formerly Twitter), to fuel narratives of a looming U.S. civil war. These campaigns intensified during the Texas border dispute and are designed to portray U.S. democracy as collapsing.
  • Past predictions and interference: Russian predictions of an American civil war or collapse have been common since the end of the Cold War. In recent years, Russia has also actively interfered in U.S. elections through influence and information warfare operations.

I expect their plants are already here.   Who cares when terrorist leader Netnyah00 is allowed to come to this country and spread news that he will use Tik tok to limit freedom of speech and spread his BS.

I think the Russians have inserted themselves into our political debates for decades.  All of it is for the purpose of sowing divisions and inflaming passions and emotions.  Some of it is for policy purposes as was the Russian involvement the anti-fracking movement.  It’s not just the Russians.  Iran seems to be doing it with the pro- Palestinian effort. Additionally many domestic players do it to further their own agendas.  Soros, and the Tides foundation do it subliminally.  And all major news outlets are agenda driven when it comes to their coverage of politics and to a lesser extent economics and law.  Mass mind control is a real thing, with real smart people using many tools to achieve it. It will become worse with AI.

Just a few days ago we saw that poll about health care subsidies that was as phony as a $3 bill.  The poll was widely accepted.

The only antidote is sound education and sounding thinking skills. We fail at both.
