@noodle that’s only a 2 hour drive.  Sounds like a visit is in order.  Is it on the Kentucky or Ohio side?

@eppy99 Ohio side. It’s about a mile from Fountain Square, in the heart of Over the Rhine across the street from Music Hall.

Cincy's a good environment.  Went to the game Thur against Monterrey.  Stayed downtown, and rode the free train up.

Pre-gamed at "The Pitch" right across the street from the stadium.  Not sure if it's associated with the STL "The Pitch"...the STL one seems much nicer...like some sort of NYC private athletic club.  Pitch Cincy is a cool, soccer/garage/historic house bar.  Great place.

Pregame boozed with some Mexican guys from Columbus, IN.  One of them has been here since he was six (30 years).  Owns a barber shop in Columbus.  Said he's looking at moving to Puerto Vallarta...he never got legalized.  Was pissed at Biden for letting 20MM in and causing the current situation.  Felt bad for the guy.

Hung out at that Coors Light bar in the NE LL corner during the game.  Met an old guy that walks/rides up from Covington to see the games that said he played at Luton Town.  Says he owns/drives an early 60's Lotus open-wheel formula car.

Grabbed some beers with him on the walk back downtown after the game at Bay Horse.  Met the Bay Horse owner and heard his story.  Quirky, but kinda cool younger guy that bought the bar on his lunch break spontaneously one day.  He likes clocks, and throwback stuff for the bar.

Hit the Five Iron for a couple last rounds...won $20 off a bunch of bros putting on the practice green.  Met the bar manager who was deciding whether to stay in Cincy at 5 Iron, or go back to Lake Nona in Orlando (ritzy club).

Nightcap at Hyatt where we closed the bar down with some Monterrey fans that flew in for the game.  Monterrey team was at the hotel as well.  Good dudes.

Looking forward to the next time.

@mattndallas that's awesome!  i will say that the leagues cup games aren't nearly as well attend as the mls games as at least here they are outside of the season ticket package.  the open cup.  leagues cup.  not as busy for that reason

@noodle Oh wow.  What a job they've done turning around that former shit hole.  I lived in Blue Ash for 7 years.

@bradstevens lmao it's owned by enterprise and world wide tech.  all multi billionaires

You've got rich Miami attorneys to tap. If that isn't enough, look up crazedhoosier to get his access to multiple billionaires.

@bradstevens lmao they ALL hate soccer.  i just don't understand how you build this world class facility, gentrify the hood, create this incredible buzz and atmosphere, have 60,000 drop deposits for 18,000 season tix, not have normal concessions but have the best restaurants in town, and make it all state of the art technology, and then say eh let's be cheap asses on player acquisition. i don't know.  they're billionaires.  i guess they know better

I'll admit to being a casual soccer fan.    I only watch Austin FC. I don't watch the MLS as a league or any other league for that matter though I will watch the MLS title game.  Austin is where I live and it's fun to root for the home team. I don't care if the play is minor league caliber.     I'm sure I'd see the difference in MLS and the top Euro leagues.  I can clearly see the difference in the USMNT and Euro/South american National teams.

My soccer watching is big tournaments (Copa, Euro, world Cup, Gold cup (maybe not so big) and Mens National team. Women - I really only watch Womens World Cup. I did watch a couple of Miami game when Messi first showed up but not watching them now.

So far the World cup tix that I have had the opportunity from being a season tix holder are crazy priced.  I didn't see many under 1k.  So will watch for more opportunity as they become available but it's doubtful, I'll go to any of them.  I went to 3 of them in 94 in Dallas.

I don't think MLS is targeting anyone.  I think it has been just trying to find a niche in the US and done so over the last 10-15 years where it can have stability in more than just a few locations.

@sig i'd go watch miami on a turfed high school football field with the lines and a crown and cold hotdogs for concessions.  i only go watch stl in a spectacular stadium with the best restaurants in town for concessions if the weather is perfect and i have literally nothing else to do.

what that says about mls and fans i don't know
