This story made me think of a horrible crime that happened at a Lululemon near where I used to live in the DC area Long story short, an employee was stealing from the store, got caught, one thing led to another and she ended up killing the manager who caught her.
Only, for about a week or so, everything though the store was robbed and both women were attacked by the robbers. The woman who murdered the manager tried to stage it to look like she was brutally attacked - she cut herself, tried to tie herself up and locked herself in a back room. My ex-wife was in that store about once a week and for at least a few days, everyone was on pins and needles that there were violent attackers on the loose. That said, that woman was as good at staging her attack as the women in the OP's story about and the police saw right through it.

Fact is. If someone is faking a hate crime you will make A LOT of money if you bet on it being a leftist every time.
On one hand you have Jussie Smollett, a guy who for the better part of 3 weeks was treated like a victim of a attempted modern day lynching in the worldwide press, replete with activist groups, media pundits, politicians and world leaders coming to his defense. And on the other hand we have this linked story that happened in July, and for some reason I am just now hearing about it for the first time which is odd (especially since I pretty much spend around 4-8 hours a day in front of a screen with updating news feeds).
I reckon that kind of means the two incidents were different.

I think the woman I linked and Smollett have some form of mental illness and that is why they did what they did. While bad, infinitely better than grabbing a gun and going on a mass murder spree.
But if the point isn't them, then let's start a general thread on partisan overreactions. There are a lot of them out here. Oh wait, such a thread would eliminate the need for all other threads as virtually ever thread starts, or ends, that way.
