It might be the case that Muslim societies (1) experience rape at a higher rate, and/or (2) restrict/disincentivize rape reporting by women. Thus, in nations that have seen a large influx of Muslims from non-Western societies, it would stand to reason that rape reporting would increase since those immigrants might be raping at a higher rate (even if not raping the women of their new country), but also the immigrant women might be experiencing and/or reportingat a much higher rate than they would have in their home country, given their new nation/culture's different encouragement about reporting.
