I would like to see people explain how handouts for Argentina equals good but handouts for Americans in need is bad

I am sure we will get a top notch defense for taxpayer money going towards interference in other country's elections

It's almost like a radical ideological economic regime isn't a magic potion.

Currency crises can ruin any recovery. Literally two months ago, Atlantic Council had a positive report.

A cynic would say he should have spent more time actually working on his currency than photo ops trying to look like an emo world leader.

They're also supplying China with the soybeans that we aren't selling now.

Why are we giving all this money to them, again?

He went all in on crypto weirdness and culture war BS.  That got him headlines and praise from MAGA but the fundamentals of his economy are still crap and can’t possibly be fixed within a few news cycles.  Argentina was suffering mightily as a state-run economy but, as more recent headlines indicate, is a million miles away from being anything like an investment-worthy developed one.  Argentina is not China, so it can’t just force change down its people’s throats as it goes through massive growing pains.  Argentina is not America, where the economy can hum along during culture war social upheaval.  Milei needed to be a bridge after he got elected but chose this style instead.

BTW, since that thread is locked, McM666 being banned recently was NOT the result of me reporting him.  I did not report him.

Apparently many others did after the "bullet to the head" remark that I never even saw. I did report him many months ago after he made threats and with hooky stalked me.  For reporting him then, he was not banned, but I was.

Anyway, I'll see many of you on the hoops and football forums.  I will choose not to visit this cesspool.  I'll miss the "only good things" thread, but that's not enough to put up with the lies, hostility, stalking, and threats of violence.

@shooter lol for the record i still stand by that deserving a bullet ot the head comment.  people who recklessly endanger the lives of others, who have blood on their hands, deserve a bullet to the head for hte deaths they've contributed.  now someone with half a brain recognizes that doesnt imply going out and shooting someone.  but that a half brain isn't a given on this board

Austerity seemed to work when inflation was under control. As soon as the currency winds turned against Argentina, inflation jumped and the central bank had no choice but to start raising rates, which seems to have stalled out growth experienced during 1H.

I'll finish up my answer from the other thread here.  The reason they're giving them a swap line is because they want access to Argentina's commodities/mineral's and don't want China having access and influence in our backyard.  I know you guys are constantly fed information that Trump is dumb and wrong on everything, but I think this is the right move.  If we don't offer them a swap line, China would have.  We don't want China having any influence in the North or South America.
