So are we talking to Iran right now or not? Does anyone know?
So the latest from the wacko in the White House is that he received a present from Iran today worth "a tremendous amount of money, and I'm not going to tell you what that present is, but it was a very significant prize." It's related to oil and gas, he says.
He added that "I think we're going to end [the war]," and Hegseth and Caine are upset because they want to keep fighting.
This is all a game of intrigue to him, theater, a reality show or, more aptly, a clown show.
If any prior president had ever talked about a war the way Trump does, there would have been serious 25th Amendment talk with legitimate concern that he was no longer fit to lead. This man is demented and incompetent.

not directly
A tells B, who tells C, who tells D.
A says “we aren’t talking to those D bastages” and D says “we’re negotiating with A”

@spartans9312 we have always, since WW2, been able to bomb the hell out of countries. That isn't the hard part.

I think you could also call them "evidence." We can bomb any nation on Earth into the Stone Age, sure enough. But if we can't change the culture and govt satisfactorily, why do that? It costs a lot of money, potentially a lot of lives--both ours and theirs, and creates a shit ton of ill will the world over.
So, yes, we're crushing Iran militarily. But the news that keeps hitting us sounds like this regime isn't changing, and it isn't going to change its tune w/r/t Israel or its nuclear ambitions. So what, exactly, are we hoping to achieve? (See the thread on What Does Success Look Like in Iran and VZ).

When was the last time you witnessed Trump pleading?!
Anyone, as the tweet says, it’s his job to make his case. So do it, DJ.
Three weeks in with a better understanding of the overall situation, it’s easier for me to answer your question.
Though the world is a mishmash of sovereign nations, in actuality we’re interconnected by and large. Assuming the ultimate goal is world peace and cooperation, rogue nations are unacceptable. Iran is both a rogue nation and situated in the crossroads of the world. That’s just not workable. Even more significant, Iran declared war on the United States.
Trump‘s case to the American people is simple. Iran declared war on us in 1979 and we’re going to end it now once and for all.
To me the acceptable outcome of this war is as Trump has said: unconditional surrender and completely relinquishing their entire supply of uranium.
That’s my stance as a realist. As a pacifist, I find it repulsive and primitive, similar to the brutal Iranian regime.

In the end, we’re just buying another decade without Iran having nukes
We can’t get rid of the entire radical-Islamic government and military leadership in Iran without invasion-level boots on the ground and a unified American citizenry and an even more unified Iranian citizenry
we may send some boots - but thats it - not gonna happen
i did see a report where some Gulf-area nations flapped hard gums at Iran today, but - like all the rest of us - they gotta have that oil moving safe fast, and right now that is Iran’s hole card.

That would be a major success if it stopped Iran from being Nuclear. Not to mention you get more time for countries to decouple from depending on the regions oil.

This to me is an excellent overview, including in-depth looks into the history, the run-up, Iran‘s plans and motivations,, what Trump is saying and why it won’t work, there being no military solution, diplomacy is the only good solution, and it includes Russia and China and how and why. It also takes a look at the possible eventuality of nuclear bombs being invoked by Trump.
Wait a second... so now we are going to listen to pedophiles as experts on foreign affairs?
Ritter was the subject of two law enforcement sting operations in 2001.[16] He was charged in June 2001 with trying to set up a meeting with an undercover police officer posing as a 16-year-old girl.[17][18] He was charged with a misdemeanor crime of "attempted endangerment of the welfare of a child". The charge was dismissed and the record was sealed after he completed six months of pre-trial probation.[18][11] Ritter suggested at the time that the case, which coincided with his prominent dissent against the buildup to the Iraq War, was a smear campaign designed to silence him.[19]
Ritter was arrested again in November 2009[20] over communications with a police decoy he met on an Internet chat site. Police said that he exposed himself, via a web camera, after the officer repeatedly identified himself as a 15-year-old girl.[4] The next month, Ritter waived his right to a preliminary hearing and was released on $25,000 unsecured bail. Charges included "unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of a communications facility, corruption of minors, indecent exposure, possessing instruments of crime, criminal attempt and criminal solicitation".
People elected a pedo as president so why not?
Did you type this while looking at kiddie porn? The guy is a complete shitbag.
If Trump was convicted or pleaded guilty to what this guy has, he wouldn't be in office. Period.
why the need for unfounded accusations other than your incessant need to be an asshole?
The guy is a scumbag. So is the guy you helped elect to the white house.
I didn't vote for a pedo. You did. So maybe you are projecting your sick issues on others.
Next time don't vote for a pedo.

100% Iran can't remotely compete with the US militarily. But they don't have to. 30 years of preparation, massive underground areas in a huge land mass--they just have to outlast us. That's it, and they know that US population as a whole suffers from war fatigue. Nobody wins wars by an air campaign that doesn't involve significant boots on the ground. And no theocracy ever capitulates, let alone a bonkers theocracy like Iran who doesn't care about its people.
There have been countless statements by the admin for why this war is happening. I don't know that we will ever get a straight answer. I also worry about the long game that Iran might play.
