Interesting (to me) little tidbit...
From what I can gather from the various reports I've seen, it looks like the Israelis targeted the "human" assets -- government and military officials -- while the US took care of the hard facilities, i.e. the missile sites and nuclear sites themselves. Makes me think the Israelis had better intel on the people than we did.

I'm mocking the retrofitting of ideas from the late 20th Century to the early part, and using ahistorical analysis on the Nazis. I'm also mocking the comparison of people complaining about voting patterns and immigration with racists who classified people as subhuman based on "race." Fascists in the early 20th Century thought slavs were subhuman. I'm going to add here that with the criteria you are using by arguing the US is a fascist state between 1980-2025, you'd also have to call the US a fascist state from basically 1775-1924, during the American Indian Wars. The US was much more racist then, the people just as proud of their nation and armed forces (holding many more parades!) and much more warlike and involved in actual territorial expansion through conquering other people.@bradstevens and look at this link, I can find several with this type of definition.

So, I have many thoughts on this. On the one side, this is clearly an illegal war, both under US and international law. That can't be brushed away. And I've always been very skeptical of targeting heads of state. I just think that's a bad precedent. Not as bad as targeting diplomats, but pretty close. I think the world order requires we refrain from attack certain people, and heads of state fall into that category. I'm also not keen to be getting so aggressively involved in the Middle East again, although that's not exactly new, so it's not like that's a revelation out of left field.
But, realpolitik here, Khamenei was a bad guy. I never celebrate death. I think it's tacky and unbecoming of a civilized people. But cold, hard logic requires us to admit that there are some people whose shuffling off this mortal coil would objectively improve the world. Khamenei was probably one of those people. I guess we'll have to see how the Iranian regime and people respond to know for sure, but it's not like the world lost a hero today. The world lost a despot stuck in the 7th century who was untrustworthy and dangerous on a global scale. That's just the facts.
So, yeah. I don't celebrate death, but I do recognize the world is probably better without this guy, but even that math doesn't change the legal and moral problems with engaging in this operation to begin with.
