Whether spending it with friends/family or spending it by yourself watching football or a movie, I genuinely hope it's a good day for everyone.

Me?  I’m going with pumpkin pie.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

For me, this will be our first in Flagstaff and it will only be us, our daughter and her boyfriend. Usually, we do Thanksgiving in Louisville with my sisters and extended family. One of my sisters and I do almost all the cooking for that. It's going to be much easier this year - for me. Incidentally, my non-cooking sister sent a Venmo request for $175 for my share of the annual Thanksgiving dinner at her house. I think I'm going to reject that. Smile

@bradstevens

Didn’t you send him one for $250.00? The rest of us did.

Can anyone here play this game?

She also sent a request for $200 for part of their Japanese dinner last night, which is also an annual tradition which my brother-in-law and I usually split. I rejected that too. They're just jokes. I'm very well off but my sister and brother-in-law are really, really, well off. They once had to borrow $2,000 from me, but that's pocket change now. LOL! Their business decisions really paid off after a good thirty years of hard work. My sister and I have come pretty far from our trailer park roots.

I sent a Venmo request for $200 for pain and suffering. She rejected that. 😉

On this we can agree.

And I'm also going with turkey sandwiches (on home baked bread, with Miracle Whip) for the next few days.

We did turkey sandwiches today.  MIL made the turkey yesterday, so we all get to eat the best part today.

Real mayo for the win!

My best friend from Kindergarten, IU grad, Army vet married a girl from Louisville. Her brother hosts every year and his wife pays what he calls a "cover charge" every year for their family, even though they drive down every year from Chicago and stay in a hotel.  It infuriates him more than just about anything and I needle him about it all the time.

When I read your message, I thought "Well, maybe it's just a Louisville thing."

Happy Thanksgiving All. I hope you all had quality time for yourself and/or those you love.

Spent my turkey day doting on the grandkids at the daughter's house. Cooked all day yesterday with stuff for home and stuff to take. For her house I did the turkey, sausage gravy dressing and homemade mac and cheese casserole with smoked sausage coins. She did the rolls, mash taters, sweet potato casserole, green beans, corn pudding and homemade desserts including a pumpkin cheesecake.

For our house I did the same dressing and mac sides and reserved some of the bird I cooked for her along with mashed potatoes and homemade gravy, a ham shank, yeast rolls, cranberry sauce, a crock of butter beans with ham and a pecan and pumpkin pies. I already told the household I won't be cooking again until Monday, but there will be enough leftovers to feed us all weekend lol.

A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"
