@arthur-dent having the government subsidize them isn't the type of "entrepreneurship" I want. Maybe Uncle Sam can write me a check for 200k a year and I'll turn in an entrepreneur. I'll start a daily podcast on Bitcoin and beer😉
Keep up the good fight, Snarl. I’m likely heading the way of Hooky, Ranger, Twenty, Floor, Murt, and others.
That’s the real birth of our health system failures, health care should never have been tied to health insurance and Medicare.

Good point, access to witch doctors and leaches would be a lot cheaper. But if one wants a doctor, which takes 11 years or more of school and residency, MRI machines (close to $1 million new), and medicine (average cost to bring to market, 1.3 billion), it would be tough to afford without sharing the risk.
Somehow Europe has more insurance, pays less than Americans, and lives longer.
The subsidies are far more likely to go to red states than blue. Amazingly, Democrats are fighting to keep Republicans insured.
In red states, 8.5% of residents have benefitted from an ACA tax credit this year, compared to just 3.2% of residents in blue states won by Harris. That means that the proportion of people in red states benefiting from premium tax credits is nearly three times the rate in blue states.2

If the Democrats only care about the politics, heard an interesting idea to solve the shutdown, Democrats agree to clean bill with the proviso that all Epstein files must be released with only victim names redacted. No way anyone opposes that and comes out ahead.
A lot of people have to buy their own. That second buddy pointed out that he would have created his own business much earlier except he had kids and had to have insurance which was before ACA. In other words, insurance actually reduces entrepreneurship
This was Pelosi’s argument. She said something about people following their passion to be artists and have healthcare
Obamacare was a big mistake. It is becoming a disaster. We can’t even eliminate covid enhanced subsidies now because it would hurt too many people—according to the Democrats. Even Obama knew it had problems when he said we need to pass it so we can fix it as needed. Right, as if our Congress is smart enough to do that. The main problem is the Healthcare Insurance Nationalists nationalized the issue which magnifies the problems. Now that so much health care is tied up in the bureaucratic garbage heap of the federal government, needed changes are impossible. Congress is too focused on more important stuff like the Epstein list.
What a country.

Remember what I said about all data used to support a political point is either cherry picked, misused, irrelevant, or made up?
The point in this post is exhibit A.
Our family rate when up about 20% with ACA launch
@co-hoosier I think the main issue with health care in this country is that the people who make a ton of money off a irrevocably broken system will fight tooth and nail to keep the relative status quo.
I think it was Rockfish on the old, old boards who used to beat the drum of 'if every other western government could figure out health care we should be able to do it too.' Or something like that.
@co-hoosier until you explain why on this or the other, all sane people believe you are talking out your a$$. You are smart. If you can't be bothered to explain, don't bother to post. Anyone can come here and post that the earth is flat with no more thought than that.
Pretty much agree with all of this post. But lower costs isn’t the only consideration. Many of those countries Rockfish used to post about had significant problems with delivering non-urgent and non-life- threatening care. Obamacare doubled down on the fee for service payment model, that is a mistake. Also, one Obamacare objective was the same level of care for all comers, that also is a mistake.

That likely reflects preexisting conditions coverage.
What are you talking about? I explained why the poll is misleading.
Not until much later, and not until you said, "I was going to explain why after a time, but your post just makes me say piss on it. "
You still haven't said what personal insult I made.
You did finally explain. An explanation which, if you were consistent, would have you critical of the polls used to defend the BBBs tax cuts. They were extensions of temporary tax cuts passed in 2017. Just as enhanced subsidies were temporary.
You're the biggest asshole hereI guess we are never going to get an ignore list feature. No way to not see the massive piles of dog shit posted by McMurt every hour. Absolutely wrecked this forum by being an asshole 24/7.
Why don't you just stop reading his posts and stop whinging like a menstrual teenager.
