COPD and asthma is largely the result of smoking and obesity.

My asthmatic wife wife has never smoked a day in her life and has never been overweight, let alone obese.

Ditto my son.

A family history of asthma or allergies is a significant risk factor, and many associated genes have been identified. Other risk factors include exposure to allergens, mold, pollution, dust, history of respiratory infections, pregnancy, cold weather, and yes obesity and smoking are also on the long list. But they are not the only things on the long list

Most diagnosed mental health disorders are fictitious

LOL

Do not lecture me on civility when you capped your first post with “once again your logic is flawed” you cunt bitch.

Giving someone solid data-backed evidence to show them why there argument is flawed is not uncivil in the least.  Calling someone a cunt bitch however doesn't seem so friendly.

Maybe you should take up painting? Calms the nerves, I hear

The pre-existing condition solution was simple, easy, and noncontroversial, but no . . . . .  Government must complicate everything.

You always touted Colorado's miracle high risk pools, but it had a lot of problems. Premiums were ridiculous, getting on it was hard, had low lifetime caps, and was costing more than the state could pay

@carramrod 2009: A study by Harvard Medical School researchers found that Americans without health insurance had a 40% higher risk of death than those with private insurance, equating to roughly 45,000 deaths annually.

so 45,000 a year.  year after year will get you to your millions save obama.  brain tumors.  certain cancers.  all kinds of shit that doesn't translate to slob living.  hell the fittest guy i ever knew was my high school coach.  died at 40 of cancer.  rode his bike with 15 balls on his back 20 miles each way to school.

before obama care and its bridge insurers could simply deny coverage.  period.  had cancer.  no coverage.  bad ticker.  no coverage.  not just jack up the rates.  literally deny coverage.  the recourse was employer-based plans.  so if you had skills you could go that route but again the pitfalls waiting for you were many

That’s all well and good and maybe there is government role for helping cover serious pre-existing conditions that are not the fault of the uninsured, like some types of cancer. Although I doubt it.

Not asthma or having a case of the sads.

Can you point me to the studies of all these saved lives?  Life expectancy is flat since Obamacare was implemented.

@snarlcakes life expectancy can be impacted by other shit.  The numbers I pulled from a Harvard study. Admittedly I took their word and didn’t read it. But I do know about coverage issues pre Obama.  U had cancer etc with no coverage you were cooked

The only people I knew without health insurance pre ACA were the crazy deadbeat vagrant type people.  They likely weren't dying because they didn't have health insurance.  They were dying because they do drugs and alcohol all day and don't take care of themselves.

Not asthma...

So, asthma is always due to smoking and being fat?

Wait...

Facts.  Pesky facts...

Only 21% of adults with asthma had a history of smoking. Other studies, such as one from the American Lung Association, gave similar results (18%).

Do you think all kids with asthma smoke too?  It's not even true that a majority have a parent who smokes

now, obesity.

Weight is a strong risk factor, sure. Not so much for men, but for women. But you seem to argue that the dark blue bars do not even exist. My son and wife would fall in the dark blue bars

@dbmhoosier ex wife got diagnosed with a brain tumor at 20.  only way she could get coverage was via an employer.  and i don't remember how that worked for underwriters re employer plans if they could raise the rates.  they had to cover but again don't remember how rates worked.  but it certainly limited her options.  she also two meds.  i paid over a thousand dollars a month for topamax and i can't remember the other.  before they later became generic and cost the same as a bag of swedish fish

I agree with 2013 Donald Trump

“A [government] shutdown falls on the president’s lack of leadership. I mean problems start from the top and they have to get solved from the top. A shutdown means the president is weak.”

Donald J. Trump, 2013

So Trump should bend over the give Schumer something that probably 70% of Americans don't want?

I've listened and read the demands of both sides and Democrats are NOT demanding free healthcare for illegals. JD Vance is making that claim to get people like you who are easily duped outraged again. Actually, you're constantly outraged. Doesn't that make your life miserable? How do you sustain it?

What’s health care for all mean? I’ve seen multiple democrats backed in a corner and they won’t deny that illegals are included in “all”.

For all US citizens.  Not that hard to figure out

What the Democrats are asking for would change “the big beautiful bill” and illegals would be covered.

Mark, it's like whenever Republicans propose voter ID laws the Dems immediately scream racism, Jim Crowe 2.0, black people will never be able to vote, etc.  And when asked who these black people are that don't have an ID, why can't they easily obtain one, etc?  The Dems can never bring forward a single example.

I've seen many people ask on X who all these people are who were dying simply because they didn't have access to insurance.  I've never seen a single good response.

Exactly. Assigned risk pools is the best logical way to solve the problem absent full on government -provided health care. I always said high risk pools needed subsidies to work. Directed subsidies to pools would have been easier, simpler, and cheaper, than the Rube Goldberg Obamacare system.
