A jury tagged the city of Seattle with a $30 million verdict for allowing lawlessness to fester during the George Floyd summer of love. Seattle’s left wing tolerance of left wing violence and lawlessness breached the duty of care municipal authorities owe its citizens. The plaintiffs were the family of a kid shot and killed by a chop zone protester.

I wish this were a federal case that would apply anywhere. Had this situation happened in Colorado, the city would likely have immunity for a state-law claim.
