Talarico beats Crockett. Similar policy positions and radically different styles. Probably won't matter in the general.

He's Beto version 2.0 but less skateboard, more Jesus...never know.

BTW what happened to Beto? That dude was being touted the next big thing, and then poof, he gone.

In other Texas election news looks like one of my favorite guntubers, Brandon Herrera, forced a runoff again with Tony Gonzales in the House race. Last time he lost to him by a few hundred votes. Seems like he may get him this time, since Gonzales has that "cheating with a staffer who committed suicide by self immolation" cloud following him...FFS.

I find Talarico and his boiled down, simplistic Christian proselytism extremely irksome.

If I have to see Talarico or Buttigieg for that matter say “Scripture teaches us to love thy neighbor and welcome the stranger” one more time I’m going to put my fist through the wall.

Progressive Christianity. All of the feels, none of the strictures or obligations.

Dan Crenshaw.  Former Navy Seal officer; decorated war vet; lost an eye from an IED, almost lost his remaining functioning eye in 2021; degrees from Tufts and Harvard, staunch conservative; kicked to the curb by Trump, Abbott and Cruz.  He should have had a long and bright future in the party, but no. His mortal sin?  He said election-denier Republicans in the legislature are full of shit and that he's heard them acknowledge, behind closed doors, that it's all a lie.

Man has just one eye but two balls.  Too bad Mike Johnson and others lack a pair.

@big-ryan his district was redrawn to be much more red, leaving him open to a primary from the right. He’s also had several public crash outs that are unbecoming of his office.

This is nuance that is lost on morons that just want to talk about MAGA.

There was an election in Texas?  Dam I missed it. But since our govt is made up of Dem and Rep criminals that blackball the people for voting for others (such as Libertarians) then I didn't miss anything.

@carramrod No.  He was more than conservative enough and Republican enough for any district in Texas.  Look at his House voting record.  He lost because Republican leadership abandoned him as he wasn't deemed sufficiently loyal to Trump.  And the loyalty issue was a function of him calling out 2020 election denialism as bullshit.

Oddly enough the 2020 election stuff didn’t affect his primary in 2022 and 2024 only when he was redistricted.

Jesus. Moron. Shut the hell up.Please.

Huh.  And here I thought he was voted out by his constituents….

His beef with Cruz is personal. Cruz thought/ thinks he's coming after his senate seat, Crenshaw at times has refused to endorse Cruz. Mike Johnson defended Crenshaw over his "Mexico incident" just a few months ago. Donald Trump didn't endorse him, but didn't endorse his opponent either, stayed quiet. Same with Abbott who was likely following Trump's lead.

The reality is, incumbents have a massive advantage in primaries, IF the district remains the same. Familiarity goes a long way. But Crenshaws district didn't stay the same, entirely new voter base and sure it was maybe more "MAGA", whatever that means. He might as well have been running for the first time.

fwiw. I like Crenshaw. I've read his book, I doubt Butch has. I hope he runs for statewide office at some point.

I think you have this backwards. His district became less red as part of the attempt to flip one of the blue Houston districts.
