First, the DOJ doesn’t release files on active cases. It was only after Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison in the summer of 2022 and her appeal was denied in 2023 that the cases against Epstein and Maxwell were both closed. So, no action was possible in the first two years of the Biden administration.
Even after that, Biden didn’t have the legal authority to release the Epstein files. And neither does Trump! Biden’s AG Garland lacked the will to push for it and was hammered for it, with the promise that a Trump AG would be different.
The main issue, of which you are well aware, is that (unlike Dems) your lord and savior Trump made it a cornerstone of his campaign to gain the release of the Epstein files, arguing that it would take down mysterious unnamed pedophile Democrats.

I’ve never been thrilled when a politician breaks a promise, but Trump is hardly the first, & the Epstein files release isn’t in the top twenty things I care about for his Presidency. Is he in them? Almost certainly, it is known he flew on his plane. Does that mean he’s a pedo? Absolutely not, despite how badly you want it to be true. Nobody wants to be associated with Epstein, whether innocently or not. The bottom line is most of your type have their minds made up regardless of any lack of evidence, & innocent until proven guilty is a foreign concept when it comes to Trump to you folks with TDS.

I have no idea what incriminating evidence there is on Trump in those files, but it's clear he doesn't want that information out there. It's possible he's protecting friends and business partners, but I highly doubt it. The only other person I think he'd protect is Melania and that's only because it would reflect poorly and come back on him.
I think if his name wasn't mentioned, he'd release those files regardless of who is in there and spike the football on all of them.
