Indiana sent its voter information to the feds for review and found 21 voters who were not citizens have voted "in recent elections." They don't define recent elections, but they do say, "2024 and past elections. It’s based on statewide voter history.”
@arthur-dent doesn't change the fact that showing a valid form of ID should be common sense. Shit, you need to show my ID to pick up basic prescription drugs. It's not that hard.

No one with any sense gives a shit about voter ID.
The point is that Indiana evidently has had a whole 21 -- count 'em, 21 -- people vote illegally "recently."
A handful of fanatics will scream "Voter Fraud!!!"
Most will say "21??? WGAFF?"
It’s a small number, but it’s still 21 too many. Each of those votes nullified the vote of a citizen.@arthur-dent doesn't change the fact that showing a valid form of ID should be common sense. Shit, you need to show my ID to pick up basic prescription drugs. It's not that hard.

It should also be worth noting that it doesn't specify how those 21 people voted. I'd guess it's highly unlikely that it's all Democrats or Republicans. Assuming it's a mix, it's even less significant.
That said, I agree with @aloha-hoosier . We should always strive to have a fair election with no fraud. 21 instances of voting fraud over multiple past elections from an entire state is pretty close to that though.

Sigh. That we know of. If I’d have asked you 2 weeks ago how much fraud there is in Minnesota geared towards Somalian immigrants, you’d have said none that we know of. Everyone is always assuming that 100% of the fraud is getting discovered or is known. Are you willing for your vote to not count?

What more should Indiana have done to prevent these 21 illegal votes in the last few elections?

That is a serious question that can apply here, but also in gerrymandering questions. Isn't that what gerrymandering is, making sure a group's vote doesn't count? And yes, Ds and Rs do it, sure doesn't make it right.
You do? I just give my last name and DOB.
that's the way it is for me too, at CVS in Florida

Duh, make it harder for 1000 other legal votes to be cast, if they are likely to be non-MAGA voters
This is not to say that I don't favor voter ID. I do. I have to show ID every time in FL.
But it needs to be a system that allows legal voters to vote even if they are homeless, they have no driver's license, they live on an Indian reservation, etc. since (unlike getting a prescription) we are talking about protecting a CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT.

What are you getting at here? We should enact voting laws based on things we think are happening, or just have a good feeling about? And as @arthur-dent touched on, gerrymandering negates my vote way more than any voting fraud does.

Yep. "Controlled substance" classification. Thanks meth addicts.
