Is there a way to get email notifications for threads after I comment on them? Clicking the check box at the bottom or 'subscribe for new topics' doesn't seam to put anything in my email.

I just got an email saying you mentioned me... in a post on the 9th. 
Anything I can do to get emails? I really don't like bird dogging every thread I've commented on.
